1. Who We Are
This Privacy Policy describes how Zhongshan Chenghong Lighting Co., Ltd. (operating under the brand "Awta", hereinafter "we", "us", or "Awta") processes personal data collected through the website awtaled.com and related subdomains (the "Site").
Registered address: Zone A, Sansha Maohui Industrial Park, Henglan Town, Zhongshan, Guangdong, China.
For privacy questions, contact: privacy@awtaled.com.
2. Personal Data We Collect
We collect only the data we need to operate the Site and respond to your inquiries:
• Contact data you submit: name, company name, country, email address, phone number, and the message you write in our inquiry forms.
• Technical data collected automatically: IP address, browser type and version, device type, referring URL, pages viewed, and time on page.
• Cookie data: see our Cookie Policy for a detailed breakdown.
We do not intentionally collect sensitive categories of personal data (health, religion, political opinions, biometrics, etc.).
3. How We Use Your Data
We use personal data for the following purposes:
• To reply to quotation requests, product inquiries, and catalog downloads.
• To send product documentation (catalogs, specs, certificates) you requested.
• To operate, secure, and improve the Site (bug fixes, performance monitoring, fraud and abuse prevention).
• To comply with legal obligations (tax, accounting, export-control records).
• To send commercial communications only where you have opted in or where we have a legitimate B2B interest permitted by law.
4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
When EU or UK data protection law applies, we rely on the following legal bases under Article 6 GDPR:
• Performance of a contract or pre-contractual steps (Art. 6(1)(b)) — responding to your quotation and sample requests.
• Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — operating and securing our website, maintaining business records, direct B2B communications with existing customers.
• Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — non-essential cookies, marketing emails where required, voluntary survey responses.
• Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) — tax, customs, and export documentation.
5. Sharing With Third Parties
We do not sell personal data. We share data only with processors and partners who help us operate the business:
• Email delivery: Resend (transactional emails, inquiry notifications).
• Hosting and CDN: Vercel and its infrastructure subprocessors.
• Database: Neon (PostgreSQL hosting).
• Logistics and shipping partners, when you have placed an order.
• Professional advisors (lawyers, auditors) and authorities where required by law.
Each processor acts under a data processing agreement and is obliged to protect your data.
6. International Data Transfers
Awta is based in China and our engineering and sales teams may access data from China. Where we transfer personal data of EU/UK/EEA residents outside those regions, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission, and implement supplementary technical and organizational measures as needed. A copy of the relevant safeguards is available on request.
7. Data Retention
We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described:
• Inquiry data: up to 36 months from the last interaction, then deleted or anonymized.
• Customer order data: up to 10 years to comply with accounting and export regulations.
• Server logs: up to 90 days.
• Cookie consent record: up to 180 days, after which we will ask again.
8. Your Rights
Subject to the law that applies to you, you have the right to:
• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Erase your data ("right to be forgotten").
• Restrict or object to certain processing.
• Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
• Withdraw consent at any time (without affecting prior lawful processing).
• Lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (for EU residents, your national Data Protection Authority).
To exercise these rights, email privacy@awtaled.com. We respond within 30 days.
9. Cookies and Tracking
We use a limited set of cookies and similar technologies to operate the Site and, with your consent, to measure performance. Details, categories, and how to manage your choices are in our Cookie Policy.
10. Security
We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including HTTPS/TLS, access control on admin accounts, rate limiting on inquiry submissions, encrypted backups, and the principle of least privilege. No online service is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security but we work continuously to reduce risk.
11. Children
The Site is a business-to-business platform and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or the law. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide a more prominent notice.
